One thing for sure about Kyrgyz people is their hospitality. They are so giving and always offering me food at the table, and food to take home. My students and colleagues prepared some of their national dishes for me to try.

One thing for sure about Kyrgyz people is their hospitality. They are so giving and always offering me food at the table, and food to take home. My students and colleagues prepared some of their national dishes for me to try.


When applying to Fulbright I thought I was going to be teaching English to students in middle or high school. Then I found out I was going to be leading my own English classes in a university! I have been blessed with such great students. My students level of ranges from intermediate to advanced. They are all hard workers, and have a strong desire to learn as much as they can. Apart from being hard workers, some are also very talented in music, dance and art.


After travelling on several airplanes, through several cities for twenty-four hours I finally arrived to Bishkek. This city is the capital of Kyrgyzstan, which was once part of the ancient Silk Road.
